WOW WOOD Wooden World Map Installation Guide

This is the installation manual for the WOW WOOD wooden world map produced from 2022 to 2024. In March 2025, we updated the manuals, templates, and simplified the installation process of the world map. If you have an updated world map, you can find the installation instructions at this link.

Required Tools (not included):

• Measuring tape or ruler
• Pencil or masking tape
• Step ladder or sturdy chair

Step-by-Step Installation:

1. Wall Marking:

• Finding the Center: Identify the center of the wall or choose your preferred spot for the map. Mark this point with a pencil or masking tape.

• Determining the Bottom Edge (Antarctica): Mark the bottom edge of the map. It’s crucial to measure the map’s height from the bottom up, starting from this point, to avoid placing the map too high.

• Measuring the Height: From the bottom point, measure the following height depending on your map size:

  • XL — 113 cm
  • L — 85 cm
  • M — 62 cm

  
  Mark the top point with a pencil. This will define the bottom and top edges of the map along the center line.

• Determining the Map Width: Draw imaginary horizontal lines from the top point and mark the edges:

  • For XL map: 108.5 cm to the left and right from the center (total width 217 cm).
  • For L map: 85 cm to the left and right (total width 170 cm).
  • For M map: 62.5 cm to the left and right (total width 125 cm).

This will outline the imaginary top border of your world map.

Note: You can easily determine the correct placement and dimensions of your map using Augmented Reality (AR). Simply visit our website, select "World Map," and open the product page on your mobile phone to access this feature.

2. Using Installation Templates:

• Attaching Templates 1 and 2:
  • Point 1 corresponds to the top-left corner of Template 1 (placed on the left within the marked map area).
  • Template 2 should be positioned in the top-right corner.

3. Placing the Main Continents:

• Starting Elements: Begin with the left part of the map (Alaska) and the right part (Russian Federation).

• Puzzle-Like Assembly: Start with the upper parts of the map. From Template 2 (Russian Federation), first attach all the upper sections of Russia toward Europe. Then, add the lower regions like Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia. Do the same for America: begin with the top sections and work your way down. This method ensures precision and stability of the overall structure.

Note: Before applying adhesive dots to any map piece, test-fit it on the wall against the already attached parts to ensure perfect alignment. Applying adhesive beforehand can cause accidental sticking, making it difficult to reposition.

Tip: For secure mounting, 5–6 large adhesive dots are enough for large pieces due to the strong adhesive. The interlocking puzzle design of the map provides extra stability on the wall.

4. Using Template 3:

• After placing America, Africa, and Eurasia, use Template 3 to accurately position the islands between Asia and Australia, along with Australia itself.

5. Placing Small Islands:

• Refer to the A3 layout guide included with your map. You can find islands by their name or corresponding number.

6. Adding Decorative Elements:

• Once all continents and islands are in place, attach the decorative items such as ocean names, a compass, airplanes, and ships.

7. Finishing the Installation:

• Your world map installation is now complete!
• Estimated installation time: Approximately 2 hours with two people.
