Yes. The WOW WOOD Dark Brown map is made from FSC-certified birch plywood and finished with a water-based, non-toxic coating that meets the EN 71-3 safety standard — the same standard used for children's toys in the European Union. There are no sharp edges: every piece is precision laser-cut with smooth, rounded contours. The 297 included pins are wooden with printed country flags, not metal needles. For children under 6, adult supervision is recommended when handling pins. The map itself stays securely mounted on the wall with no drilling, no exposed hardware, and no dangling cords.

Dust the map gently with a dry microfiber cloth or a soft brush every few weeks. For deeper cleaning, use a barely-damp cloth — never a wet one. Avoid household sprays, alcohol-based cleaners, or furniture polish, as these can affect the finish over time. The Dark Brown surface does not require oiling or waxing. With normal indoor care, the map stays in display condition for decades.

Birch plywood is more dimensionally stable than solid wood, but extreme humidity is not ideal for any wood product. The map performs well in standard indoor conditions — living rooms, bedrooms, home offices, hallways, and children's rooms. We do not recommend installation directly above stovetops, inside bathrooms with regular steam, or in unheated spaces like garages. In standard kitchens and dining rooms with normal ventilation, the map holds up without issues.

The included acrylic adhesive dots work on smooth, clean, dry surfaces: painted drywall, smooth wallpaper, glass, varnished wood panels, and sealed plaster. The map does not reliably stick to: raw brick, rough stone, decorative plaster with deep texture, freshly painted walls (wait 30 days after painting), or surfaces treated with silicone or wax. For unusually textured walls, a light sanding of the adhesive contact points or switching to Command Strips is an alternative. Always test one dot in a hidden area first.

If any piece of your WOW WOOD map — a continent, an island, a decorative element, or a batch of pins — is lost, damaged, or missing on arrival, we send a replacement free of charge for the lifetime of the product. This covers: broken or cracked pieces, missing pins from the original count of 297, damaged adhesive dots, and factory defects discovered after unboxing. It does not cover the full map replacement in case of flood, fire, or structural wall damage.
